Tram No. 1 will regularly run along Central market

„Rīgas satiksme” informs that at the beginning of March several Riga public transport routes and their schedules will undergo changes. The changes are based on passenger flow measurements and the proposals received from passengers and „Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”.

As of March 3 tram No. 1 „Imanta – Jugla” will go by the central market in both directions. Please see  the changes  here.
The working day schedule of tram route No. 1 is available here, and the holiday schedule is available here.

Given the above changes, tram route No. 4 will be closed as of March 3. The one-route tickets that until March 3 were first registered on tram route No. 4 will be valid on other tram routes coinciding with this route until the expiry date of the monthly ticket, without registration.

In addition, there will be the following changes in the public transport traffic as of March 3:

  • Trolleybus route No.24 will be closed. The one-route monthly tickets, which until March 3 were first registered on trolleybus route No. 24, will be valid on other trolleybus routes coinciding with this route until the expiry date of the ticket, without registration.
  • Given the above, some runs of trolleybus route No. 19 will go up to the rotation circle of JSC “Dzintars”. The above changes will enable passengers to reach JSC “Dzintars” and residents of Ziepniekkalns to reach Ziepniekkalns cemetery. The route’s working day schedule is available here, and its holiday schedule is available here.
  • Changes will be made in the holiday schedule of bus route No. 6 in order to better coordinate it with the schedule of bus route No. 3.
  • Changes will be made in the working day schedule of tram route No. 5. Intervals between runs will be reduced in morning hours following passengers’ proposal.
  • Trolleybus No. 5 going in the direction of „Pauls Stradins Hospital” will stop at stop „Tukuma Street” in Mārupes Street, not in Tukuma Street, as before.
  • On bus route No. 10, bus stops „Kurmenes Street” and „Kursīšu Street” will be closed in the direction of „Brūkleņu Street”.
  • On bus route No. 48, bus stop „Gdaņskas Street” will be closed. In the direction of Sarkandaugava, bus stop „Inčukalna Street” will be closed.
  • Changes will be made in the holiday schedule of tram route No. 11.
  • Due to a rather small passenger flow, tram route No. 6 will be closed as of March 3. The one-route monthly tickets, which until March 3 were first registered on tram route No. 6, will be valid on other tram routes coinciding with this route until the expiry date of the ticket, without registration.
  • Changes will be made in the schedules of bus route No. 58 on working days and holidays.
  • Given the above, changes will be made in the working day and holiday schedules of bus routes No. 2 and 24 to better coordinate the two routes. The schedule of bus route No. 2 is available here. The schedule of bus route No. 24 is available here.

To make the transportation of passengers more economically advantageous, as of March 5 the following routes will be served by „Rīgas satiksme’s” sub-contractor with smaller buses and the following changes in public transport traffic will be made:
  • Bus No. 57 will run with 30-minute intervals on the holidays when exhibitions will be organised at the International Exhibition Centre on Ķīpsala. Information about exhibition dates will be made available to passengers in advance. After the evaluation of the passenger flow, two runs will be added to the route’s working day schedule. The working day schedule of bus route No. 57 is available here.
  • Due to a rather small passenger flow, trolleybus route No. 20 will be closed, and a new bus route No. 59 to the Television Centre located on Zaķusala Embankment will opened. We also inform that the one-route monthly tickets, which until March 3 were first registered on trolleybus route No. 20, will be valid on other trolleybus routes coinciding with this route and on bus route No. 59 until the expiry date of the ticket, without registration. The working day schedule of bus route No. 59 is available here, and that for holidays is available here.
  • Some runs of bus route No. 34 will be served by minibuses that can provide the necessary capacity in line with the passenger flow. The schedule of bus route No. 34 is available here.

Having evaluated and analysed the passenger flow with the aim of improving the public transport network, „Rīgas satiksme” informs that changes will be made in night transport routes. It has been decided to close night route N8 as of 00:00 of March 3 while changing night transport route N4, which becomes a circular route: Centre – Imanta – Zolitūde – Centre. From now on night transport route N10 will go to Ziepniekkalns through Āgenskalns.

It is planned that the last night transport run will depart from the Railway Terminal Square/Central Railway Terminal at 04:00, and from the other terminal to the city centre at 03:30.

Taking into account the proposal of „Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”, schedules of minibus routes No. 200, 214, 224, 237, 238, 241 and 263 will be changed as of March 3.
