From March 1, “Rīgas satiksme” will stop blocking personalized e-tickets for passengers who do not have an interoperable COVID-19 certificate

Due to the end of the emergency situation and the ease of various COVID-19 restrictions, from March 1, “Rīgas satiksme” will stop blocking discounts for those customers who did not have an interoperable COVID-19 certificate. Those customers for whom the e-ticket was blocked and the discount cancelled are invited to visit one of “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres by previous appointment in order to prepare a new e-ticket and renew the discount.

In order to issue a new e-ticket and to renew the fare reduction, the customer must visit one of “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres. Be sure to bring your passport or eID with you when visiting the customer service centre. The cost of making a new e-ticket is 2.85 euro.

At the same time, we encourage customers who receive fare reductions to pay attention to the expiration date of their personalized e-ticket status. Towards the end of the validity period, you must promptly visit one of the customer service centres in order to extend the discount for travelling in public transport.

The changes in the use of COVID-19 certificates set by the government will not affect the other customers of “Rīgas satiksme”. If the customer has already applied for the status of a discount recipient, then in the future he/she will also be able to travel in Riga public transport - bus, trolleybus, tram - with the previously granted fare relief.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, by the Cabinet order No. 720 of November 15, 2021, “Rīgas satiksme” revoked fare reductions in public transport and blocked personalized e-tickets for adult customers who did not have a COVID-19 vaccination or recovery certificate.
