„Rīgas satiksme” was founded on February 20, 2003; its legal status is Riga municipal limited liability company. „Rīgas satiksme” is a company with share capital 100% owned by Riga city municipality. „Rīgas satiksme” owns capital shares in the following companies with share capital: SIA „Rīgas karte” (51%), SIA „Rīgas acs” (100%). The company operates in conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 50001:2018 standards. At present, the company employs about 3500 people.
The general strategic goal of „Rīgas satiksme” operation is to provide public transport services within the administrative borders of Riga city, to administer and manage pay parking lots within red lines of streets in Riga city, and to participate in the maintenance and development of infrastructure of Riga’s urban transport.
The company’s mission: to provide an affordable, reliable and sustainable public transport system, motor transportation and parking services while furthering economic growth and improvement of quality of life in Riga.
