Some minibuses to change routes and schedules, a new minibus route to open
As of October 23 several minibus routes will change schedules, names and location of terminals. On November 1, a new minibus route No. 222 „Central Railway Terminal – Airport” will be also opened. These changes are based on the proposals of minibus company „Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”, passenger flow measurements as well as proposals of local residents.
For Riga residents and guests to better find their way in the city, several minibus routes will be renamed as of October 23: No. 208 „Central market – Pļavnieki”, No. 224. „Railway Terminal Square – Mangaļsala”, No. 242 „Central Railway Terminal – Imanta” and No. 244. „Central Railway Terminal – Iļģuciems”.
Based on passenger flow measurements and residents proposals, there will be new schedules on several minibus routes as of October 23: workday and holiday schedules on minibus routes No. 203, 204, 208, 238, 241, 242, 244, 246, 267, 270, 280, new schedules for all days of the week on minibus routes No. 200, 214, 224, as well as anew workday schedules on minibus routes No.216 and 233. As of October 25 a new holiday schedule of minibus route No. 209 will take effect.
As of October 23, the following changes will be made on minibus routes No. 208, 224 and 244:
Minibus No. 208 will run from Pļavnieki by the route to Gogoļa Street, then in Gogoļa Street, Turgeņeva Street, Elijas Street, Puškina Street, Gogoļa Street to terminal „Central Railway Terminal”. From terminal “Central Railway Terminal” the minibus will run in Gogoļa Street, Marijas Street and further by the route.
Minibus No. 224 will run from Mangaļsala by the route to Raiņa Boulevard, then in Raiņa Boulevard, Marijas Street to terminal “Central Railway Terminal”. From terminal “Central Railway Terminal” the minibus will run in Marijas Street, Merķeļa Street and further by the route to terminal „Mangaļsala”.
The terminal of minibus No. 244 in the city centre will be now at the minibus station, MTS, because the previous terminal in Riepnieku Street was not popular.
Minibus route No. 212 will be closed as of October 23 due to low passenger flow. This connection is fully ensured by bus route No. 3 and trolleybus route No. 22, as well as partly by bus routes No. 6, 47, 51, 52 and trolleybus route No. 16.
On November 1, considering the requests of residents, a new minibus route No.222 „Central Railway Terminal – Airport” will be opened to connect the city centre with the International Riga airport.

Minibus No. 222 will run from the city centre by the route in Elizabetes Street, Satekles Street, Dzirnavu Street, Turgeņeva Street, Gogoļa Street, 13th January Street, 11th November Embankment, across Akmens Bridge, in Uzvaras Boulevard, Slokas Street, Kalnciema Street, Baseina Street, Volguntes Street, Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve, motorway P133 and Ziemeļu Street to the Airport. From the irport, the minibus will run in motorway P133, Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve, Lielirbes Street, Kalnciema Street, Daugavgrīvas Street, Raņķa dambis, across Akmens Bridge, in Uzvaras Boulevard, 11th November Embankment, 13th January Street, Satekles Street and Elizabetes Street.
