On 1 June, tram 7 will start running on an extended route to the new "Ķengarags" mobility hub
With the opening of the "Ķengarags" mobility hub and the completion of the tram line extension on 1 June, tram routes 7 and 14, trolleybus route 15, and bus route 49 will run to the new mobility hub starting with their first trip. Passengers will also have access to new stops along the extended section of the tram line. At the same time, schedules and departure times from terminus have been revised for several routes, including tram routes 1 and 11.
Changes to tram routes effective from 1 June:
- Tram 7 will run from Ausekļa iela to the new terminus "Ķengarags". After the stop "Eglaines iela/Dole", the tram will continue along Latgales iela to the new terminus, it will also follow the same route when heading to the city centre. With the extension of the route, the number of trips will also increase.
- Tram 14 will also be extended to the terminus "Ķengarags". Trams from Iļģuciems will continue along Latgales iela to the new terminus after the stop "Eglaines iela/Dole". The number of trips on route 14 will remain unchanged.
On the new section, stops have been established in both directions for trams: "Rasas iela", "Ikšķiles iela", and "Mobilitātes punkts Ķengarags".
Trolleybus 15 will now run to the terminus "Ķengarags". After the stop "Višķu iela", trolleybuses will continue along Višķu iela to the new terminus and back. The number of trips will remain unchanged, but departure times from the terminus will be specified for certain trips.
There will also be changes to bus route 49 – buses will no longer run to the current terminus on Višķu iela, but instead to the new terminus "Ķengarags" at the intersection of Latgales iela and Višķu iela. The number of trips will remain unchanged, but departure times from the terminus will change for certain trips.
As a result of these changes, the bus 49 stop "Višķu iela", located before the current terminus, will be closed, and buses will no longer stop at the stop "Višķu iela 3".
To maintain coordinated departure times on shared route sections, minor changes will also be made to the schedules of trams 1 and 11.
