On 23 and 24 June, public transport in Riga will be free of charge, with additional trips made available
On 23 and 24 June – during the summer solstice – public transport in Riga will be free of charge for residents and visitors. There will also be additional transport services to and from events organised in different areas of the city. There will also be changes to the opening hours of parking lots and customer service centres.
Public transport
On 23 and 24 June, Rīgas satiksme buses, trolleybuses and trams will be free of charge, so passengers do not need to register their e-tickets or code tickets.
Due to the Līgo night events planned at Mežaparks Green Theatre, Grīziņkalns and Dzegužkalns, from 23 June at approximately 20.00 until 24 June at approximately 05.30, additional trips will be organised from the city centre:
- combined bus routes 3, 11, and 12, 23, and 26 (via Akmens tilts), 18, 24, 25, 48, 50, and 51
- tram routes 5, 7 and 11
- trolleybus routes 4, 9, 14, 15 and 27
- N1, N4 and N6 night bus routes
On night routes, in addition to the daily scheduled services from 0.00 to 4.00, additional services will be provided at 0.30, 1.30, 2.30, 3.30 and at 4.00. The routes will be serviced in full and return to the centre, while services at 5.00 will be realized in a shortened route – to Tālivalža iela, Botanical Garden and Itas Kozakevičas iela.
Parking lots
On 23 and 24 June, paid parking lots of the Riga Municipality, operated by Rīgas satiksme, will be available free of charge.
In the underground parking lot located at K. Valdemāra iela 5A, payment must be made according to the current tariffs.
Customer service centres
On 21, 22 and 23 June, the opening hours of the customer service centre in Stacijas laukums 2 will be from 10.00 to 18.00, while the other customer service centres will be closed. On 24 June, all customer service centres will be closed.
On 20 June, the opening hours at the customer service centres at Brīvības iela 49/53 and Pāles iela 9 will be shortened. Opening hours at Brīvības iela 49/53 will be from 8.00 to 15.00, and at Pāles iela 9 from 9.00 to 15.00.
