There will be changes in operation of public transport, parking lots and customer service centres in Riga on April 30, May 1 and May 4
“Rīgas satiksme” informs that there will be changes in the operation of public transport, parking lots and customer service centres on April 30, May 1 and 4. On the national holiday, May 4, Riga residents and guests will be able to use trams, trolleybuses and buses free of charge.
Public transport
On April 30, May 1 and May 4, the public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams) will run according to the holiday schedule.
We inform that on May 4, due to the events of the Republic of Latvia Independence Restoration Day and possible increase of passenger flow in the public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams), some routes will be served by vehicles of bigger capacity.
Changes will be made in the following bus routes due to the May 4 events that will be held in Gustava Zemgala gatve next to VEF Culture Palace, which will be in force from the beginning and until the end of the public transport traffic:
- bus No. 48 will run from terminal „Sarkandaugava” to stop „Tēraudlietuves Street” and back. The bus traffic from terminal „Pļavnieki Cemetery” will be organised on the route from the crossing of Brīvības gatve and Gustava Zemgala Street, then along Brīvības gatve, Viļa Ģelbes Street, and further by the route in the direction of terminal „Pļavnieki Cemetery”; see the schedule of bus route No. 48, and the map here;
- bus route no. 58 will be closed.
On May 4, extra runs will be organised on the following public transport routes:
- bus routes No. 3, 11, 12, combined 12/23/26 (runs across Akmens Bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53;
- tram routes No. 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11;
- trolleybus routes No. 9, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.
Minibuses will run on April 30, May 1, 4 and 5 according to Saturday, Sunday and holiday schedules.
The nigh transport will be provided in the nights of May 4/5 and May 5/6.
Tickets
Passengers having bought monthly tickets for working days shall take into account that tickets for working days will not be valid in public transport on April 30 and May 1.
On May 4, Riga residents and guests will be valid to use trams, trolleybuses and buses free of charge.
Customer service centres
On April 30, the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be closed; the other six customer service centres will be open from 10:00 until 16:00
On May 1 and 4, all customer service centres will be closed.
On May 3, the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be open from 8:00 until 17:00, the other six customer service centres will be open as usually on working days, i.e. until 19:00.
On May 5, the customer service centres at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be closed; the other six customer service centres will be closed from 10:00 until 16:00.
On the holiday eve, May 3, legal persons will be served at the customer service centres at Brīvības Street 191 from 8:00 till 16:00.
Parking lots
Payed parking lots of Riga municipality served by “Rīgas satiksme” will be available free of charge on May 1 and May 4, except the underground parking lots at K.Valdemāra Street 5a next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be charged for according to the existing tariffs.
We remind that there will be payed parking lots in Vecāķi (V zone) from May 1 until September 30. The V zone tariff is 2 EUR per day. These parking lots will be available free of charge on May 1 and 4.
On April 30, the payed parking lots in Old Riga (R zone) will work according to the existing tariffs from 06:00 until 24:00. Other parking lots will be open on April 30 from 9:00 until 17:00. The underground parking lot at K.Valdemāra Street 5a next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be charged for according to the existing tariffs.
On Mother’s Day, May 13, payed parking lots of Riga municipality served by “Rīgas satiksme” will be available free of charge, except the underground parking lot at K.Valdemāra Street 5a next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be charged for according to the existing tariffs.
