Ticket on smartphone
Buying a ticket on your smartphone is faster, more convenient and easier! Remember: no matter which ticket you choose, you must validate your ticket immediately after boarding - on every vehicle and for every journey!
How to use it?
1. Download the app and register
Download the “Rīgas satiksmes koda biļete” app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
2. Buy a ticket
Choose your ticket and pay by card or via online banking.
3. Validate your journey
Shortly before boarding, open the app and select “Validate journey”. Once you are on board, find the QR code sticker and scan it, or enter the vehicle ID manually.
4. Show your ticket to the inspector
If a ticket inspector boards the vehicle, open the app, select “Ticket for inspection” and, when prompted, show your validated ticket. Make sure your smartphone is always charged and in good working order!
Important!
- Registration is mandatory: Regardless of the type of ticket, you must validate it immediately after boarding — on every vehicle and for every journey!
- Active tickets: You can register only 1 ticket per journey (for yourself).
- Validity: Tickets purchased in the app are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase, except when fares change and a transition period is established.
- Discounts: If you are eligible for a public transport fare concession provided by the Riga City Council, discounted tickets are not available for purchase on your smartphone.
